Lilliburlero is an old Irish tune made popular during the Williamite wars in Ireland. The music had been attributed to Henry Purcell who published Lillibullero in 1689 as 'a new Irish tune' but it is believed to date back as far as the 1640's. A Scottish origin of the tune has also been speculated.The most well known lyrics refer to the Williamite war in Ireland 1689-91, which arose out of the Glorious Revolution. The tune has remained popular in Ulster among the Scots-Irish ever since.In France the tune is also known as the Marche du Prince d'Orange.

In Orange culture the tune is the basis of the song 'The Protestant Boys'.
